Qi Gong (pronounced: ‘Chi Gung’) is an ancient Chinese discipline of postures, exercises, breathing techniques, and meditations. Its techniques are designed to improve and enhance the body’s qi (chi).

According to traditional Chinese philosophy, qi is the fundamental life energy responsible for health and vitality. Qi Gong practice involves rhythmic breathing, coordinated with slow stylised repetition of fluid movement, and a calm mindful state. People practice Qi Gong for many different reasons, including exercise and recreation, prevention of illness,  self-healing and meditation. The purpose of practising Qi Gong is to improve the health of the mind, body and soul.
