Celebrating Seniors Week 2015

We are offering a range of complimentary* health and wellness activities during Seniors Week. Bring your friends, parents or grandparents along to join in the activities. We are delighted to announce that this year we will also be running a ‘Nominate a senior citizen’ competition’.

Tuesday 6th October

Warm water exercises                    8am – 8:45am & 9am – 9:45am
Our warm water exercise class involves gentle exercises for the whole body. When you exercise in water, you reduce the weight on joints and the resistance of the water makes your muscles work. Class sizes are limited, please bring a bottle of water with you. Classes will be held in the Bath House bathing area.

Wednesday 7th October

Global bathing experiences journey       8am – 9am
A Peninsula Hot Springs therapist will take you on a global bathing journey of the Bath House bathing experiences. The journey will start with a smoking ritual, and an explanation about the thermal mineral water of Peninsula Hot Springs. Learn about Watsu, relax on the bubble couch, learn some breathing techniques, enjoy a foot massage on the reflexology walk and enjoy the cultural experience of the traditional Turkish Hamam, cool down in the plunge pool, warm up in the Swedish sauna and finish with a massage under the thermal mineral showers.

LI’TYA product session with hand massage          2pm – 3pm
This session will be held in the Moroccan tent by one our of staff members. Our staff member will start with an indigenous smoking ceremony, allow you to smell a variety of oils and choose the scent that appeals to you at the time. All of the oils will affect your body in different ways; these oils will then be used as a part of your hand massage. LI’TYA is a brand that we use in our therapy treatments. LI’TYA, means ‘Of the Earth’, and is a unique range of skin, hair and body products based on Indigenous Australian plants and the principles of modern and Indigenous herbalism, aromatherapy and touch therapy.

People practice Qi Gong for many different reasons, including exercise and recreation, prevention of illness,  self-healing and meditation. The purpose of practising Qi Gong is to improve the health of the mind, body and soul.
