community connections

contributing to the mornington peninsula economy

We enhance the business community and economy through local partnerships, supplier arrangements and employment commitments.

supporting and growing our local community

We know that so many people and organisations work hard in our community to make a difference, and fundraising is necessary to support your own operations.  If you’re a local community group, charity, not-for-profit organisation, sports team or school who would like our support, we’d love to hear from you.

working with schools, colleges and universities

Wellness and environmental education should start early. We open our doors to work with local schools, tertiary institutes and universities to make that connection through research and learning opportunities. We welcome research and benchmark studies, and look forward to sharing and applying new knowledge. Some of the studies we have supported, like RMIT have enhanced our understanding of mental health and wellbeing and inform the wider community. Learn more.

Working close with not-for-profit and community support partners, our mission is to raise awareness of mental and physical health issues and to provide relief to people living with these conditions.

Peninsula Hot Springs is a place of wellness for everybody.

accessible pools

Our healing waters provide lasting benefits for so many visitors. We understand how important accessibility for people with mobility needs is. We know there are many benefits that can be found within bathing in geothermal water and guests with moderate ability can access several experiences in the Bath House and Spa Dreaming Centre areas. We take great care to ensure guests with physical disabilities, arthritis and other musculosketal conditions can access our venue with ease. We have been working with designers to include ambulant pools at Peninsula Hot Springs in the near future.

Our mobility maps may help you better plan your visit to the Bath House or Spa Dreaming Centre.

Community Engagement Initiatives

At Peninsula Hot Springs, enhancing people’s mental and physical wellbeing is a key when we are working on activities to support our community. Many of our initiatives focus on raising awareness and fund to support mental and physical health issues as well as providing a possible relief to individual customers who live with challenging ill-health conditions related to these issues. Here are some of the regular activities which we deliver in an attempt to achieve our missions.

Share the Warmth campaign

During the cold winter months, Peninsula Hot Springs offers a free entry to Bath House bathing when a customer brings his/her friend, who may be experiencing mental health challenges, to share a relaxing hot springs bathing experience.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness of mental wellbeing and to ease some of the stress surrounding mental ill-health of our customers.

The purpose of this program is to encourage our senior customers to look after their wellbeing with what we offer at our facility while supporting Musculoskeletal Australia with a meaningful donation.

World Mental Health Day campaign

World Federation for Mental Health promotes 10 October (1010.org) as World Mental Health Day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy.

Peninsula Hot Springs joins our charity partner Mental Health Australia to support this initiative by sharing their message through our community network encouraging to make and submit a promise on how you can contribute to help reduce stigma around mental illness and make way for more people to seek the help and support.

Ride for Relief – hosting a charity cycling event

In October 2018, Peninsula Hot Springs hosted a charity cycling event to raise awareness and fund for mental health issues for the first time.

This event is run in partnership with our charity partner and the event beneficiary Mentis Assist and being assisted by a professional cycling event management company.

The inaugural team of 19 riders have collectively raised over $18,000, which will assist Mentis Assist provide much needed specialized support and resources to more people who live with challenging mental health struggles.

This event, being proved to be successful and contributing significantly to the mental health issues, will be run again in 2019.

Self-managing Warm Water Exercise Cards

Based on a guideline provided by Musculoskeletal Australia, Peninsula Hot Springs has created a set of water-proof exercise cards which provide routine exercise movements for our customers to practice in the hot springs pools.

These exercises are designed to ease and improve some of the musculoskeletal conditions (such as arthritis) as well as body/mind related stress.

These cards are available for use at any time by Bath House bathing customers, and an assistance from our pool attendants can be available if necessary.
