As the presence of COVID-19 in our community continues and the associated restrictions have ramped up across Victoria, at PHS we have been reflecting on what we can do as a place of wellness to keep connected with you, our community. We’re exploring ways that we can inject some positivity, create some calm – albeit remotely and provide a circuit break in the news cycle.
We are really missing the opportunity to connect and relax in nature in our soothing geothermal waters and we are sure you are too. We hope that you are finding other ways to be out in nature – whether it’s on your balcony, in your backyard or in your neighbourhood (especially if you’re living in Metropolitan Melbourne) and finding ways to relax and take some time out amidst all the craziness.
Making a conscious effort to calm your mind and find some relaxation can be challenging, especially if you’re also juggling home schooling or trying to work from home.
Relaxation is a critical part of wellness and your experience whilst visiting us, and we’ve been getting creative on how we can provide a little of the magic of the springs to you when you’re at home.
Positive thoughts, things to look forward to and happy memories can all provide calmness to the mind and the nervous system, and often space, smells and sound can trigger a release of serotonin.
We’d like to encourage you to find a quiet place, maybe a spot near a window with some sun streaming onto your face, and take a moment to think about your last visit to Peninsula Hot Springs…….close your eyes and remember how you felt as you entered the pools or had a spa treatment…and, relax.
Perhaps you could take this time to think about the person or people you shared your hot springs experience with. If you haven’t connected with them lately, now could be a great time to reconnect and focus on something to look forward to in the future – together.
Immerse yourself in the sounds of the springs as you take a moment..
Stay safe. Stay well. Take care and we’ll be welcoming you back to the springs before you know it.
