Bathe in Cinema x the Melbourne International Film Festival: Magic Beach

we are proudly presenting Magic Beach as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival world premiere season this august

In a special Bathe in Cinema screening in collaboration with the Melbourne International Film Festival, we are delighted to screen Alison Lester’s Magic Beach, directed by Robert Connolly. This much-loved illustrated children’s book is reimagined for the big screen through a unique mix of live-action entwined with extraordinary animated stories from ten leading Australian animators.

The screening of The Magic Beach will take place in our Amphitheatre on Friday 23 August at 6pm. For all ages to enjoy.

From producers Liz Kearney (Sweet As, MIFF 2022), Kate Laurie (Petrol, MIFF 2022), Chloé Brugalé (Because We Have Each Other, MIFF 2022) and Robert Connolly (Paper Planes, MIFF 2014). Directed by Connolly with animation directors Susan Danta, Pierce Davison, Jake Duczynski, Emma Kelly, Anthony Lucas, Simon Rippingale, Kathy Sarpi, Marieka Walsh, Eddie White and Lee Whitmore.
