artist in residence - season two

Peninsula Hot Springs supports contemporary artists to create sounds inspired by nature through our Artist in Residence Program.

After the success of last years program, we are delighted to introduce Artist in Residence: Season Two with special guest Nicky Bomba celebrating the season by taking residence from November 12 and with a showcase performance at Peninsula Hot Springs on November 17.

“We are so thrilled to announce the launch of AIRPS2 with Melbourne’s own master music maker, producer extraordinaire Nicky Bomba...Nicky drummed on and produced John Butler’s Sunrise Over Sea album, and also co-produced several tracks on our foundational Peninsula Hot Springs album Water-An Australian Story(2003), so has been a co-creator with us from our very beginnings. It’s going to be amazing to have him back in the house for a week”

Marty Williams Arts Culture and Entertainment Director.

Peninsula Hot Springs acknowledges the strength music as a medium has in connecting people to place, health and to community.

We launched our inaugural Artist In Residence Program (July 2021 – March 2022) to provide an immersive 7 day wellbeing experience in the natural environs, wetlands, and spring-fed pools, to facilitate the creative process of uncovering a brand new musical response for 7 leading contemporary, original musical creators transitioning out of the trials and challenges of COVID19 here in Victoria.

The artists who joined us as part of Artist in Residence: Season One were Charles Jenkins, Kutcha Edwards, Pérolas, Sam Anning, Charm Of Finches, Ben Opie, and Sianna Lee.
