Mental Health Week 2016
The aim of Mental Health Week is to promote social and emotional wellbeing to the community, encouraging people to maximise their health potential, enhancing the coping capacity of communities, families, individuals and increasing mental health recovery.
The 2016 Mental Health Week is being held from 8th – 15th October which coincides with World Mental Health Day on 10th October.
Since Peninsula Hot Springs opened 11 years ago, mental and physical wellbeing has always been a primary driver to our wellness destination. We are committed to creating experiences where people relax in nature and connect with their friends, family and the deep well of their being.
A recent survey conducted among 4,000 visitors to Peninsula Hot Springs supports a great connection between bathing experiences at our facility and a relief from the conditions such as stress, anxiety and insomnia. This result strongly encourages us to extend invitations to people with a mental illness and their carers to enjoy the relaxing bathing experiences at Peninsula Hot Springs.
It is now estimated that one in six working-aged Australians are living with mental ill-health. To support the cause we are pleased to work with Mentis Assist, a committed Community Managed Mental Health service provider on the Mornington Peninsula, who shares a very similar ethos of promoting mental and physical wellbeing.
During Mental Health week we will be running a special offer in our Bath House café, where guests can enjoy a coffee and cake for $5 with all proceeds being donated to Mentis Assist.
