Peninsula Summer Music Festival

For the past 12 years, the Peninsula Summer Music Festival has presented an annual festival of the finest classical and early chamber music, to jazz and world musicians in unique venues across the Mornington Peninsula.

This summer, we are delighted to host leading musicians from around the world with the headline event ‘Opera at the Springs with Adrian Tamburini’ in our Bath House Amphitheatre, as well as unique performances from the Rathdowne String Quartet, Veronique Serret ‘yoga and violin experience’ and Unknown Mirrors duo Ryan Williams and Miyama McQueen-Tokita.

Treat yourself to the splendour of classical music in this showcase of operatic favourites set in the beautiful natural surrounds of our Bath House Amphitheatre. Be immersed in a performance by acclaimed baritone, Adrian Tamburini with the Inventi Ensemble, featuring works by some of the greatest composers of all time.

Enjoy the performance while soaking in our geothermal mineral pools or relaxing on grassed terraces, as the stunning sounds of this world-class opera performance surround you.

Our open-air Amphitheatre café will be serving fresh local menu options and drinks form the region. Strictly No BYO alcohol or glass. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic and festival chairs.

Rathdowne String Quartet, made up of Australia’s finest young musicians who met whilst playing together with the Australian Youth Orchestra, will present a diverse and exciting repertoire of Chamber music on our unique Amphitheatre stage before exploring the surrounds of the Hot Springs to perform intimate roving performances for bathers.
Performances by Harry Ward, Kyla Matsurra-Miller, Molly Collier-O’Boyle and James Morley.

Sunday 5th January 2020

2pm – 4pm

For a truly unique yoga and violin experience, leading concertmaster and violinist Veronique Serret will perform on our Amphitheatre stage. In recent years, Veronique has led orchestras for Giorgio Moroder, Cinematic Orchestra, Megan Washington and Sarah Blasko’s Sydney Opera House shows, and led string quartets for Missy Higgins and Ed Kuepper plus many more.

Monday 6th January 2020

2pm – 4pm

Duo ‘Unknown Mirrors’ will bring unique performances using ancient and traditional instruments of the recorder and koto. Ryan Williams, who studied recorder at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and Miyama McQueen-Tokita who has been studying the koto since the age of seven, will bring a carefully prepared program of music to the springs to enhance the bathing experience.
