Six reasons to chill out at the springs this summer
While you might not automatically think ‘hot springs’ when you think ‘summer’, there’s actually a multitude of reasons for visiting us in the summertime.
- We cool down some of our pools
To ensure you can continue to enjoy your bathing experience in the heat, we keep a close eye on the temperature of our waters. On hotter days we combine a higher amount of cool mineral water with our geothermal water to create the perfect temperature in our pools. Some pools are exclusively swapped to cold mineral water to refresh you during the warm weather.
- Perfect opportunity to trial hot and cold therapy
You may have heard of the benefits of awakening the body through hot and cold therapy, which involves repeatedly alternating between a warm environment and a cold environment in quick succession. This contrast can help reduce pain and inflammation, stimulate circulation and loosen tight muscles. Throughout the Bath House, guests can enjoy strategically-placed cold plunge pools – including one that’s luxuriously large – Turkish Hamams, Swedish saunas and a Fire and Ice area that comprises an Ice Cave, Deep Freeze and two 30-person saunas.*
- Experience our Body Clay Ritual
Clay has been used as a cooling substance by various cultures throughout history. Our Body Clay Ritual involves painting your body with Australian earth clay that has a range of healing benefits for the skin in addition to its cooling properties, and then rinsing off under a mineral shower. It’s also a great way to be outdoors and connect with friends or loved ones in the summertime. Available weekdays at 10.30am and weekends at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
- Listen to sounds at the springs with live music
Be entertained by a string of local musicians performing on our purpose-built Bath House café each Thursday night from 6.30pm – 8.30pm as you tuck into a gourmet pizza. Or, on alternating Saturday nights in February, come down and enjoy our new Amphitheatre stage from the luxury of a hot spring with Sunset Sessions.
- Plenty of shady picnic spots
Bring your own delicious picnic and enjoy it as you stay cool under the shade of moonahs and tea-trees, where you’re sheltered from both sun and wind. Our lush grassed areas provide the ideal spot to roll out a towel or picnic rug and tuck into a refreshing snack between dips.
- Enjoy the tranquility
Summer is generally a quieter time at the springs, making it a great time to come and experience the multitude of experiences on offer at one of our most peaceful periods.
